Project // Hero Card Design
The Design Process
I worked directly with Lucas Wolfe’s marketing director to create the overall appeal for these hero cards. Paired with one of my images from Lernerville Speedway at the Don Martin Memorial race last year(2020), we created a great marketing piece for Lucas for the 2021 racing season.
Items we definitely wanted to highlight on Lucas’ autograph card were:
PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon Logo)
Photo of the 5w car
Lucas Wolfe’s website (LucasWolfe.com)
A professional and clean looking card with not much clutter
Branding is crucial when it comes to an effective and unique hero card, and if you look at the past hero cards that I have done, you will notice a trend, no matter what style of racing, that specific autograph card is for. For Lucas’s card this was no different, but we took more of an easy, limited information approach. This is still in my opinion going to be a fan favorite, because it’s easy on the eyes, appealing, and showcases the ever popular Pabst Blue Ribbon logo. and fan favorite car all on one card.
Lucas also wanted the 6×9 size for his hero card as well, making it stand out, from other cards in the pits that are normally 8×10 or 5×7 sized.
Be sure to grab some merchandise from Lucas Wolfe’s T-Shirt van, this year at the track, and grab a hero card as well! Can’t make it to the track? No worries – Lucas also has an online website that his fans can order merchandise from: www.lucaswolfe.com
